Introduction
My name is Alicia and I am a Wildlife Conservation student. I currently live in Fairbanks but I am originally from Michigan. I am also a full time employee of the University at the Emergency Services office. I previously worked for the UAF Student Health and Counseling Center for the previous year. I have been married for fifteen years. I also have three cats. I have a Maine coon and two Bengal cats.
I have a great appreciation and love for the arts. I personally love to paint landscapes with acrylic and oil paints. I also love working with charcoals and shading. I also own a wonderful oil painting from the Californian artist known as Estacien Benjamin. It is part of a collection called the Hillside collection. Every place that I travel I try to stop at an art museum. My favorite is from back home. It is the Muskegon Museum of Art and I have personally had a piece of work on display.
I find Egyptian art to be one of my favorites. A great local free source of art is always available through PBS as well. Then there is also the local locations for viewing art.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Having a work displayed at a museum. Great job with your blog - Lisa Kljaich
ReplyDeleteHi alicia, that is awesome that you have a piece of art displayed in a museum. I liked the video you shared through the PBS link, I watched a little bit of it but plan to finish it throughout the week. The Egyptian art link you shared is also fascinating.
ReplyDeleteI really love this painting, I feel like I have seen it before. It is so exciting to know that you have art displayed in a museum. My son had a piece of art displayed at the Capitol Building in Juneau.
ReplyDeleteThe painting posted is by Bob Ross. I have always found him to be a perfect example of peaceful beauty. It definitely captures Alaska in all its glory.
DeleteHey Alicia, I think it's cool how much you love art! Landscape paintings are gorgeous and calming.
ReplyDeleteI am not a big painter, but I do love how landscape painting looks. When I was in high school, I was in an art class and we had to create a charcoal piece, it was a lot of fun to work with.
